Video Games Don't Make Sense!

It has always confused me that are some games that are given higher age ratings despite not containing enough content to justify those ratings. One of those games was Driv3r (or Driver 3), an open world sandbox similar to GTA. The game has a M for Mature rating (at least in North America) but it has very little content that would considered "mature". Shootouts and car chases/crashes are common in the game, but there is no blood, s3x, profanity, or anything else that normally make a game suitable for mature players. One time I recall coming across an old forum post and people were arguing/debating as to why this game even received a mature rating.

Skyrim. Specifically, dragon lore. In Daggerfall, the second Elder Scrolls game, dragons are a semi-common enemh, and there's even a draconic language skill to render them non-hostile. The church of Akatosh worships dragons to the point of executing dragonslayers. But in Skyrim, dragons have somehow not been seen since the founding of the empire? Hmmmmm.

I don't understand why in video games there are things that can hurt or kill
you in the games that can't hurt or kill you in real life. It's so stupid. For
example, in the Madagascar game for Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS,
rats and pigeons hurt you when you touch them, and you can even lose all
your health and die and start over to them. Why?! It doesn't make any sense!

This reminds me of ROBLOX, (i know that's more of a game maker than a game but oh well) a freaking wooden sword can kill you. But in real life, well, if i am not wrong, you can get HURT, but you can't really die? I don't think anyone was ever killed by a wooden sword.

Yeah...you can kill someone by piercing their chest with the
end of a sharp stake like in the vampire movies, comics etc.
but to my knowledge wooden swords are normally in the
fantasy and videogame world meant to be played with by
children (usually really small children) and so aren't extremely
sharp on the end (and therefore lethal) because they're meant
to just be toys, not actual weapons. NO parent would want someone
knocking on their door telling them their son was playing with a wooden
sword and just stabbed one of the neighborhood children to death with
it while they were playing "knights and dragons" with each other!

Any game that lets you shoot enemies in the foot & they'll die from it.

Exactly. You can hit someone with a wooden sword, some people will even be hurt if you hit hard enough, but i don't believe you can kill anyone with it. Like you said, they are just toys for children to play with, nothing too dangerous.

Yeah...definitely played some games with THAT feature. Like Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for the
Wii.....
