How To Set UP Arcade Fight Order

my fight order in my select.def doesnt work

ive set numbers for each character but when i go into arcade mode it just choses random characters instead of the character set to 1

i even tried giving the characters numbers in vselect

how can i fix this?

Note: Sorry for double post, but initially I couldn't find this thread (Until it came up in related posts) but I have answered this question.

Note: I'm using the latest version of Ikemen Go. As far as I'm aware this isn't possible to do in MUGEN 1.0 or 1.1 without an add on

In the select.def file you need to go to where all your characters are added. The syntax is quite straight forward. Here's my simple example, which I've tested and I know it works. This is my order for the character and my forever waifu, Cammy (cvscammy)

cvscammy, 1={cvschunli}, 2={cvsryu}, 3={cvsgouki}, 4={kfm}

number = { charactername }

The reason you have to put the name in {} is because Ikemen allows you specify additional parameters. Maybe you want the fight to have a specific stage or even BGM? All the parameters you can set for a character can be used here. So say I wanted Ryu to fight Akuma for his 1st fight and I want the fight to happen on the moon to the tune of Ron Wasserman's Fight... the syntax would be:

cvsryu, 1={cvsgouki, stages/moon.def, music=sound/Fight.mp3}

And that's it! Ryu's first battle in Arcade mode will always be Akuma... on the moon... to the tune of Fight.
