What got you into mugen?

I dont remember completely but it was when i saw some gameplay of Goku and Vegeta vs Ryu and Ken way back in 2007. Then in 2011, i downloaded Marvel vs Capcom 3 as my first mugen game. I still have the mugen on my pc.

I've known about MUGEN for over a decade but never got into it because honestly I didn't like the examples of what I saw. Seemed like a sloppy mismatched mess. Recently I came across the Capcom VS SNK Evolution- REV 2 build and was absolutely blown away by how professional it looked and how great it played.

Now I've gone all in and am currently putting together a Marvel vs Capcom build running at 16:9 widescreen (no character stretching) with all of the stages from X-Men COTA to Marvel vs Capcom 1, along with all of the music from those games assigned appropriately and all of the characters from MVC2 including bosses and secret characters from those games. I've put an absurd amount of hours into it already, but part of that is I'm learning as I go.

Doesn't help that this site keeps shutting down to me, but I've found a lot of other sources online as well.

the idea of making my own fighting game just sounds cool. I'm not sure if i can edit how much damage/health a character can do, but If I can then that would be perfect.
