Saw some of the overhauls on youtube, wanted to try it myself.
it was watching joel and vin's mugen streams. I was like I WANNA PLAY AS BINYOT AND JOBLET
Some video about dragon ball heroes it was weird too but fun as I began to watch it but at the time my pc couldn't handle it
I've known about MUGEN for many years now, but I really didn't start really experiencing it until last summer. The highly customizable nature of Mugen really drew my attention, but the process to add content to it made it seem inconvenient at first. Eventually I got the hang of it, and I would go on have a roster of nearly 500 characters. Then, almost 2 months later, my computer ran into serious problems, and I had to start all over again. Right now I am at 148 characters and 19 stages.
Personally i got all Kor Undertale characters
Mortal kombat offcourse
TBH, i watched ALOT of videos on it, mainly DBZ stuff got me into it, the flashy moves and transformations really interested me.
I remember about 8-9 years ago when I first ran across an image from MUGEN and because I'm a die hard Capcom/Street Fighter fan I quickly became obsessed with finding out what it was. Fast forward to now, I actually hadn't played in well over 5-6 years and the word MUGEN just randomly popped into my head today and here I am, back again!
The videos. They showed me how awesome the platform was, which led me to feeling like I need to use this for once.
It was Joel's original video on MUGEN that got me intrested in it but it was his VHFSMACVUSMRRM stream that got me into it.
I was watching a korean iwbtg fangame video from a person who seemed to be obsessed with gustab, this led to me searching who gustab is which led me to finding Zelgadis's KOF Memorial fangame, which led me to MUGEN, where I was interested that this is a fighting game with character creation
Years ago I stumbled across a Streets of Rage fullgame and found out what it was made on, and just went down the rabbit hole from there. It escalated fast.
it was a youtube video, although i do not remember the name of it
Basically i was at school ane one friend said, Hey dude, you have to check out this game, is super cool because you can play as any character in any stage, with any music, bla bla bla...
Getting to see anime characters in a fighting game that you would never normally see
i saw a video of a bunch of characters i liked fighting and being like what this is insane i gotta try this out
what got me into mugen was everything in this game was customizable and you could create anything. And me being a noob at creating cuz i suck gived me hope to still make stuff. So on general i got into mugen because you can do anything with it
I got into mugen back in 2011 when I was wishing there was a fighting game out there that I can play as any video game character I wanted and fight others in like street fighter style. I looked around on youtube and found mugen. haven't stopped playing it since then.
For me, I just watched random MUGEN videos, downloaded the game out of interest, and that was it!
