I can appreciate a reference to something I know, but they shouldn't be too obvious, nor jokes.
Yeah, exactly, it's kinda hard to have a normal conversation or take anything seriously, because every living thing and person is a meme, and it takes away the fun and seriousness of things and people that are actually great. Tsukihime is an awesome game, but i can't stand most of the fanbase's memes. I am not too keen into JoJo, but the memes are kinda cringe and i hate that "EVERYTHING IS A MOTHERF0CKING JOJO REFERENCE LOL" saying. Can we like something and someone without having to turn everything into a meme? I kinda miss when memes actually made a bit more sense and they weren't extremely popular, but that was why you could find more decent ones. I laugh at 2012 (made in 2012, not about the movie or year if that makes sense) memes, and i hope that isn't a bad thing, 2021 memes just seem unappealing and don't have anything to redeem themselves.

Sorry if i sound hypocritical.
