This is a yin yang thing, i wholeheartedly agree on your first point, on your second point, it depends, but you're not far from the truth so, you're right. Your first opinion also reminded me of something else:
Censorships. I am talking about shows, games and songs on this one.
I hate how EVERYTHING nowadays has to be for children. Yes, we get it, childhood is a special time in life, children exist, but you can just, you know, not show some stuff to children? Why must they play, watch and listen to everything? Teenagers and adults exist too, don't take away their interests and make it for children. Can some things just be dirty, gory, murderous and dark, why should everything be sunshine and flowers? If some game or show would scare a child, they can just not show it, not censor it. If some song is about swearing, people can just NOT listen to it, it's that simple, not go and censor it, censored songs feel so empty and i hate that pause between words. There are a lot of kids' shows so, i don't like it when they take some serious fictional work, shoo away the serious and dark elements, then make it appealing for children, it completely kills the magic of the original version.
There are some kids who can take gore, swearing, inappropriate moments and murder, though, but still, censorships are so pointless when talking about games, shows and songs. Some things can just be left alone, teenagers and adults have lives too, not everything has to be for children.
However, censoring words on the internet is justifiable if the site doesn't allow swearing and you want to be understood without having your swear word entirely censored and turned into stars. MUGEN Archive censors swear words, to give an example.
I 50% agree 50% disagree with you on the second opinion, there are a lot of songs that are just about having a simple and fun life, but are still really addicting. Vem Dancar Kuduro/Danza Kuduro (VDK is Big Ali and Lucenzo, but DK is Don Omar and Lucenzo if that makes sense) is a song about dancing, being happy and having a good life, it's so simple yet so addicting. Pitbull's I Know You Want Me is pretty fun too. Queen's Don't Stop Me Now is really sweet listen to as well. However, there are some songs about s0icidal thoughts, depression, feeling unfulfilled i listened to, and i felt something in them and i loved them, i think it depends on when you listen to them, they can be helping sometimes, but sometimes boring if you're having a good life and you're not in mood to listen them. Edward Maya's Stereo Love is literally a heartbreak song but the music makes it feel like it's not, Gergana has Gubia Te Bavno which i am kind of addicted to as well, i mainly love that "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" crying part, Arash's Broken Angel is emotional as well. I can give more examples, but i don't want to reach the word limit.
(I apologize if i offended you.)
