I do not understand the appeal or popularity of sports games, especially the ones with a new release every year. I always hear people say for example that Call of Duty is the same old stuff every year, which I feel is an overstatement, because while its true that the games have things in common, I can still at least tell the difference between Black Ops and Modern Warfare. Sports games on the other are indifferent to me. I'd could be playing either NBA2K20 or 2K21 (not that I'd want to) and it wouldn't make ANY difference to me if I was playing one or the other. Hell, I think ALL of those sports games should be the textbook definition of the "new year, same game with barely any changes" formula instead of Call of Duty. Also how the hell did NBA 2K20 get away with an E/3+ rating despite having simulated casino-like minigames and loot boxes?
