1. Focusing more on multiplayer modes as opposed to single player. This especially applies to FPS games like Call of Duty and Battlefield. It's like people care more about the multiplayer/zombies modes than the Campaign. And I'm like the complete opposite. I even think games like Overwatch and Rainbow Six: Siege could've worked better if they had a single-player campaign.

2. Player behavior and toxicity. I'm very certain than everybody who's played at least one online match or session has come across one rude or obnoxious player. It happened to me one time, when I was playing a little bit of the multiplayer in Watch Dogs and it was a somewhat empty server, few players, and I could hear one person in the chat being frustrated and swearing profusely. He wasn't yelling or screaming, but he was a little agitated and I honestly can't remember why. Not the worst case, but still.

3. Feeling insignificance (sorry if that sounds deep). The best way for me to explain this is when you first jump in into an online game, you feel like a nobody. A perfect example is when I joined one of those modded GTA FiveM servers and I was completely lost. I was dropped into an isolated part of the map, near a gas station, and I was looking for a vehicle, didn't matter what it was. Problem was, there was NO traffic spawning where I was, and so I asked the chat where I could find one. They never replied back. At that, I just gave up. If anybody here owns a copy of GTA 5 on PC, my advice to you would be to install some mods, especially those that bring online-exclusive content to the single player mode.

Sorry if this sounds rude. I do understand why people play online, to meet new people, teamwork etc.
Hmm, i didn't play online in games i like that much, i find it fun because you are proving your skill against someone else, but i agree with you that there are flaws to it too.
And also, what i hate about online gaming is that sometimes, they pick an player way too strong for you. Let's say for example, you are level 10, and the game puts you against a level 100 player. Not fair, honestly. Similar to your 'feeling insignificance' opinion, it's sad how when you're a new player, or have played for days/months/possibly a year or more, people ignore you when you're looking for advice, but yet they are enjoying their lives and thinking that being really skilled gives them a reason to ignore less skilled players. It isn't meant to be that way in my opinion, there are different types of skilled players, but most of skilled players should give advice to less skilled players because there used to be a time when they weren't that great at the game they're good now, but some skilled players think their experience and skill means that they should ignore anyone who is not as good as them, which is rude.

Idk if it counts, i used to love ROBLOX in its older years when TIX existed, and most of the games that don't work now actually worked before (i miss that DBZ vs Naruto ROBLOX game, it used to work and was great when it did but due to ROBLOX's updates, the game is stuck at loading screen), making the experience a bit more special. However, from what i played in 2015/2016, ROBLOX has gotten extremely toxic, people hate you just for breathing, and attack you for no reason. Terrible community, but the engine can be fun if you know how to use it. I was never a good scripter, but building was fun. Though there used to be a time ROBLOX was less toxic, still rude, but not as much as in 2015-present or my memory may not be clear.

(sorry if i missed the point of your game)
