I admit that I own digital copies of various SNK/Neo Geo fighting games and yet I don't play them anymore because of Mugen. I mean what is the point of playing, lets say, the King of Fighters 98' anymore when you can download characters and stages or even lifebars from that game and put them in your Mugen roster?

I'm sorry if I sound crazy for saying something like this. I'm probably the only one who feels this.
Idk if this is unpopular, but i congratulate you for having an opinion i never saw. I have MUGEN but i still play other fighting games because fighting games actually feel 'fresh', if that makes sense, and sometimes, i want some balance and sometimes, i feel like playing official games. That's kinda like refusing to play any RPG game just because RPG Maker exists. I am not attacking you, though, but that's just my perspective. One thing i like about, not all, but most of fighting games is that some of them have some challenges to unlock characters, (for example, in the PS2 KOF games, you must finish your last opponent with a Desperation Move or finish few opponents with Desperation Moves and then you will get to fight and unlock a boss if you win) makes the game more fun for me. But one cool thing about MUGEN is that you can put in any character you want, unplayable in the original game or not. Some people are upset that you cannot officially play Igniz in the Neo Geo KOF 2001 (you can unlock him with Original Zero in PS2 and Dreamcast from what i heard though but you can use cheats on Neo Geo emulators since Neo Geo KOF games do not let you play as boss, except '98 and 2002) so, they download a MUGEN version of him instead. I know MUGEN exists, but i still play KOF and other fighting games, despite its existence. At the same time, i like seeing how good i am, because in MUGEN, anyone can win so, i sometimes want to feel like my victory was out of skill and not because i wanted to win.

Sorry if i sounded harsh by the way. However, i like that you have an different opinion from many people so, that is why i gave Awards to your post.
