When i was a kid in the late 2000s i got scared by the Budcat logo from Guitar Hero Aerosmith for the PS2.
In 2014 when i was 11 after downloading the Dead or Alive 4 demo for the XBOX 360 i got scared by the Team NINJA logo thinking it was the game intro.

For some reason, SNES Killer Instinct portrait of Sabrewulf always scared me when i was younger. Maybe because of the blood? Don't remember perfectly.

And i also know that Kabal's face fatality in MK3 and UMK3 also made me feel uncomfortable and afraid.

The cutscene of splatterhouse 3, where Jennifer turns into a Mindless beast. It gave me nightmares. The game is pretty scary for a kid btw.

Facing the angler emperor for the first time in Starfox Command is one of them for me. Those sharp teeth man, the game is fun, but didn’t like his teeth, basically copying Andross’ inhaling attack and his dialogue when he does eat you doesn’t help.

I don’t really double check my sentences before posting.

I struggle with priorities I'll be inactive for quite some time on this site.

Not sure if this would make sense, but I played FNAF as a child and was scared a good bit because of the jumpscares and aesthetics. Being in an office with just limited power to save you would be too terrifying to handle IRL. Nowadays, I have been playing it better and even managed to complete 4/20 mode. Not that scary for me now, because my nerves have hardened to steel, so getting a jumpscare and still jumping is a rarity for me. I have beat FNAF 3 (with the bad ending though, because I never knew how to play the minigames) and attempted to beat 10/20 mode on FNAF 2, but only could get as far as 3 AM. Been thinking of continuing attempts for a long time, though I never got to that.

When I was a child, I accidentally played a horror game. I thought it was the usual strategy game I played because they both have similar looking icons. So when I accidentally opened the game, I tried my best to find the exit button in the menu but it wasn't there so I tried to give the game a shot. At that time I didn't know much about computers and only played games using mouse and arrow keys so at the time where the monster appeared and started chasing me, I panicked and tried to find the pause and exit buttons as fast as I can, it was esc, until the monster came and jumpscared me. I plugged off the computer and horror and got traumatized by it for several months.

Not alone on that one - got my save corrupted in Pokémon Emerald. Didn’t matter to me though, because Juan was the hardest Gym Leader in the game.

You probably think that I'm talking about the startup that plays if you insert a pirated disc, but somehow that one didn't scare me. But back to the regular startup. The long, droning tone followed by an eerie chime sent chills down my spine anytime I heard it. It still sends those same chills to me just thinking about it. 2: Game Boy Camera Scary Faces. Nintendo, what the hell is wrong with you? Everyone's always saying "The piano is too scary!" "The Dead Hand is so disturbing!" "Oh my god, spooky ghosts!". But this one time, they're actually right. I'll just let you look it up for yourself. Good luck sleeping, I suppose. 3: Sonic CD Secret Screen. I won't go too in-depth on it because it would just be beating a dead horse, but I genuinely couldn't go to sleep because I was so terrified of it. I don't think any other of my childhood gaming experiences can say that. In fact, it may be the reason why I've become a night owl. Thanks, Sonic! See you soon!
Beware Sonic.EXE is coming for you soon

A funny one was with Mortal Kombat 4, when i was little, my dad was playing it (he had a ps1 (even before i was born!) before having a ps2), he did (or got, i don't remember ) a fatality and one of the characters started screaming, i got so scared from the scream i went to hide behind the sofa
another one was with Street Fighter Ex2 Plus, i'd always get scared when i'd get the "continue" screen and the characters would scream real loud....ryu's scream were the most scary for me back then!

I think that's why I've barely played any Zelda games since Link's Crossbow Training... The only other two I remember playing are the first game via Smash 4 Wii U's Masterpiece gallery & A Link to the Past via both that Wii U application where you scan amiibos to get classic games & later the SNES thing for NSO. Might have to try the GBA Zelda games out sometime...

I brought up before how the Zelda games have scary bosses, but I failed to mention the
fact that the bosses in the Resident Evil games are even MORE terrifying. Personally I
think the scariest one is William Birkin from Resident Evil 2....the mutations he goes
through are horrifying, especially in the recent remake. Oh! And don't forget also the
"Nemesis" boss from Resident Evil 3. He was also the toughest, because he just would
    NOT die!

How young were you when that happened?
