I learned to play with friends stronger me.
I learned to play with friends stronger me.
fight with my friends😏😋😖😖
Most of the time i was mashing my buttons haha
I'd pick up a game first and understand the mechanics, then I'd pick up a character and continue to play with them, and if I feel stuck or if I feel like I can't improve by myself I'll look at guides or pro videos.
if you have a passion for those kind of games, play alone if you have to. Naturally you'll get better.
It's funny, because luckily, I didn't have to play alone. Way, way back in the day, like, when playstation and N64 was a thing, me and my brother would spend hours playing fighting games.
Usually play around myself, watch some combo videos on yt and try to repeat them, look at the move list...and that is it, really.
Learning? What’s that?
Mostly had to button spam in MUGEN to figure it out. In most other games tho I tend to read in-game instructions/tutorials and figure out how I like to play by myself.
Mostly just via random button mashing

constant practicing and feeling out how the character/s works
It all started with Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3 with motion plus controls on the wii.
It made me feel so into the battle
"Only the skilled can parry all the hits from the longest of special moves."
Me, 2019
There is nothing better than picking the biggest baddest looking guy and seeing if he's fun or not. I always do a trial and error approach to learning fighting games and finding my main.
I'm garbage lol, but my friend is a god so some of his skill rubbed off on me. Also I played at some arcades against some dudes in Japan, that was pretty neat.
Practice combos in free/training mode.
I normaly like to figure things out myself. See what kind of movesets they have and if they work for me.
A practice mode where you can see the move list and that gives you the possibility to set some AI behavior should do the job imho
Figured it out myself... I'm not necessarily good but I try.
I just mess around in training a bit to understand some controls and special moves and develop my skills by losing to higher level players and high difficulty AI.
Honestly, getting bodied so many times by my cousin pushed me to improve how I played.
Playing with my father since I was little.
He used to beat me and I always cried for not winning...
I am currently trying to practice a bit before playing with someone.
One day, some teammates invited me to play MK... And they made me play a VS, where I was victorious... After that, my other teammates also tried to beat me, but they couldn't.
I don't know if I learned to play quickly or maybe they had no idea how to play.
