Thread: BGM related question

    Default BGM related question

well, it might be a silly question, but I didn't find such option which can help. That's why this thread's been made.

Now I'm using mugen 1.1 and want to reset the BGM to play from first upon every round starts. If anyone knows where to set it would be so much appreciated. thank in advance...

I'm not sure if this will help, but it's how I'm able to do it. I go into the data files under the system DEF files and just replace the themes in question.

let's say for example if the file says select.bgm = sound/203 Juno Reactor - Wgocoo Teahouse.mp3, all you have to do is change it to the song you want. so, let's say Fear Factory Terminator, just as a pure example, I would change it to select.bgm = sound/Terminator - Fear Factory.mp3 or whatever the name of the song is, and it should work.

that's essentially how I change background music all the time with new music that fits the stages mood & atmosphere, or sometimes just to get the audio more faithful to their arcade/console counterparts.

    I hope that helps.

no, I wasn't talking about menu and char selection screen bgm. let's make it more clear. when we start fighting, the stage bgm continues to play and loop even when round 2 starts and so on. what I want is, the bgm will play and loop as usual, but when round 2 starts, the stage bgm will start from first...same when round 3 starts, the bgm will reset...I mean the stage bgm will reset when a round starts. hope I made myself clear :)

I figured as much, thanks for clarifying. yeah, I'm not sure I can help you there my friend. but, at least I gave it a shot. just to clarify myself, I wasn't exactly talking about the char select screen or the menu. I've been able to replace and add music to each stage and it loops from Rounds 1 to 2 and possibly 3. I'm not sure how to restart it back to the beginning of the song with each round, but I know for sure that the song will loop until the fight is over. unless if you were able to find a way to use separate songs for each round of slight variations that change from round to round, I'm not sure if there's any Mugen programs that does such a thing. at least, as far as I know.

in either case, best of luck in finding the answers you seek.

my friend...thanks for your reply, you tried to help me at least.

I don't need multiple musics to play in a battle. and I also can select a particular music to play in a battle by editing the stagename.def file. All just I want is to reset the music on very round starts in a battle. Hope some angel will help me out ;)
