all the western appeal of the DoA series were ignored in favor of dubious anime tropes due to Itagaki's departure from Tecmo (now Koei Tecmo) with Yosuke Hayashi (later Yohei Shimbori) creating the DoA series (Hayashi - 5/Shimbori - 6) (Online/Dimensions doesnt count since Online was done by a different studio (Lievo Studio) while Tecmo before merging with Koei published it, & it's a port of DOA2U for the XBOX for PCs with online resources from DoA4 while Dimensions is a compilation of events that happened in DoA1-4+Helena Douglas' adventures, it's also a port of DoA4 for the 3DS with graphical downgrade a-la Tekken 6 (3DS hardware ahead of the dreamcast) with DOA3-2U stages+newest ones such as the Freedom Survivor & the Fireworks & removal of Gamblers' Paradise & Ring stages that promote the X360/codename:Xenon).
Marie Rose started this since DOA5U in 2014 as a DLC, then the 2nd to do this was Honoka from DOA5LR then NiCO from DOA6.

i don't really like them since they look like generic otaku-pandering characters, but i like DOA2 (dreamcast ver, looks good till today despite weaker hardware compare to xbox), with 1 (PSX/++)/3/2 Ultimate/4/Online/Dimensions being other games i like from this series, 5 made this serie go downhill as of 2012 until today.

atleast honoka design is cute, Natsuko Kawakami did a good job desiging her alongside Marie.
