    Question Do You Build Your Library All At Once Or Over Time?

    Kinda a silly question, but I personally will download a TON of characters and stages and then put in a few hours to get them all in. I wonder what other kinds of strategies people have

    As Strike said, it depends. There will be times where I'll add one or two characters, and other times where I'll add in 10.

    I download some chars that i think look good, lets say 10 or 5, i add them, test them, if i like the char i'll keep it and search an stage and theme for he/her later on. If i don't like the char, i throw them to the recycle bin and that's all.

    As someone that is not a fan of big *** rosters, i tend to add chars to my roster very slowy, like the character has to earn that place, so in resume i would say over time.

    I do it all at once. It's pretty satisfying for me to see a full roster, but sometimes I get pretty bored downloading characters and extracting them.

    One at a time. It really takes time to find the correct character that fits within the roster.

    For my all AI controlled roster, I develop it slowly, carefully choosing characters that are similar in strength and testing it against the other chars in my screenpack, so that everyone has a fair chance of winning. Repeat 200 times. Very time consuming, I know, but you really get that sense of satisfaction.

    I download anything I feel like downloading. So I build my library overtime.

    i download in batches of a game or whatever they come from like if i download a street fighter char im gonna download however many look good in that category same for stages

    That is exactly how I am, I never want to have too many fighters. idk kinda takes away the things i like about fighting games when i have giant *** rosters, balance and competition

    As @Juu-bei7 and @Znewt said and I agree. My own MUGEN roster has been on rebuild with constant shifting on AI controlled heroes for the past 4 years. There's no single top-dog and everyone else is just scrubs; Reu's Evil Ken, Evil Reu and Dragon Claw, along with Big Eli King's Dark Chun Li and Sander's Ryuji once ran the yard with absolute brute force (and some teleportation). Touhou characters like Alice used to be able to freely flood Shanghai Dolls at will while drinking tea. Now enter the era of counters, parries, cancels, buffs and debuffs, stick-and-moves, c-c-c-c-c-combo breaking, shields and deflection. Resurrection and and HP regen if you're SF3 Gill or Melty-class. It's taken long, but no matter who vs who, the background music is gonna fit and the fight in NOT going to be boring for human or AI
