I'm glad I have every one of my favorite snes, genesis and arcade games saved on my hard drive. I knew this was an eventuality.

I'ts very sad that emuparadise is gone, but Nintendo will never be able to take down all the websites, they are just trying to scare the emulation community by taken down the most well know room libraries. The only way emulation can end is if we let the government control the internet. If we let this happen, it's gonna be the dark ages again.

Exactly. If Nintendo (or anyone else) pays the government or makes a certain law about copyright pass... then all sites hosting their files on an american server (example) they'll probably get a "friendly reminder" by the FBI or something like that. Well, I'd be scared to death if that happened to me, so I can't blame the site owners... I hope there will be another solution (torrent, P2P, this kind of stuff...)

All they had to do was scare one of them to get everyone else scared to and have them follow the take-down to avoid legal issues.

It's like the downloading of music illegally. It appeared once on the news that someone was caught and punished for it but I never really heard about another case after that. Perhaps that alone cut down on that significantly for a while. It may happen again.

It would be a difficult and tiring thing to get every single person for that. As it is, just about everyone with internet has probably done it so probably everyone would have to be punished :p It's a lot of waste of resources and time to go after petty theft when there is murder happening and bigger crimes. Some things are just slightly enforced to a degree just to keep the lawyers happy.

nearly like that, sir. but i am sure it will not pop up again that easy.
also it was really helpful selling or re-selling classic games on virtual consoles, think they papercutted theirselves.

I mean if gaming companies would just release these old classics on newer system for purchase no one would even need to download them illegally. It sucks for so many years people have been forcing themselves to use roms for retro games instead of gaming companies just re releasing them in like their online stores. It would make them so much money and would make so many of us happy. Sucks your community is gone, it means no one can ever play those games because Nintendo wont release them all >.>

Thank goodness I took advantage of Emu Paradise, Torrents AND Napster before the drama and politics caught up to them. That said: I feel awful for the parties involved and those that relied on these sites, especially for games that are no longer being published or were extremely limited
