Man, I love a lot of Japanese music. Primarily, it's EDM artists like Kors K (aka StripE), Yoji Biomehanika, USAO, and Noriken. Something about the Japanese style of dance music is really unique, emotional and dramatic. It has a lot of elements of European techno in the late 90s-early 00s but with twists like increased speed/BPM, unique sampling or in the case of bands like Towa Tei or Cibo Matto, just weird crap you won't hear anywhere else.

I mean, come on. Listen to this and try not to get hype:

FAQ: It's pronounced 'Jay-jay-jacks'. It stands for Jingaling Jaxmont Jaxxon. It has nothing to do with the cool bionic arms guy from Mortal Kombat. I have normal meat arms like other normal humans, and I find it suspicious you're so curious about the composition of my limbs. My location is hidden because thousands of Kula clones are currently after me since I know the meaning of life. The meaning of life is live fast, die young, and fill half the screen with a giant beam super. Just FYI.

I love surreal japanese music videos. Like, what's the deal with the lightbulbs?

In all seriousness, this is a pretty solid pop ditty. Sounds like the opening to an anime of some kind.

Makes me wish MUGEN had an anime, actually. That'd be pretty sweet.

Alright, now I have to share one to make it fair, don't I? Time for some USAO. Those drums man...I wish I could engineer kicks that slick.

Yoko Kanno is damned amazing. Also have to love the lo-fi surfer feel of The Pillows.

Though I'm not exactly sure if it would be considered a Japanese song, since there are no lyrics, The Battle theme from Final Fantasy V is really good too.

    Nice songs everyone!

Also, I've now discovered my favorite japanese band of all time, Nothing's Carved in Stone.
Not every song is on youtube though... But if you want to listen to one of my favorites, then look for 雪渓にて on youtube. (Can't post videos because of my post count, sorry)

And my favorite composers are: Masafumi Takada, Akira Yamaoka, Michiru Yamane, Yugo Kanno, and Makoto Yoshimori.
