Usually MUGEN .snd files can only be open with FF , I think (not sure) they share the same extension of Next/Sun (*.au, *.snd ) files but I guess they're differently coded (that's why they sound like noise if you open them with audio editors). Just tried opening one of my char's SND with Cool Edit Pro 2 and yes... according to how you import them they can be screwed up a bit (sometimes with funny results)
So, I think you need Fighter Factory to open MUGEN .snd files, use any audio editor (like Audacity, Cool Edit Pro, Goldwave, etc...) to save a WAV file (I use "ACM Waveform" settings for WAV files) and then add it to the SND file with Fighter Factory.
