lol gj @mulambo incurring the wrath of a deathfat who wants "representation" or some such nonsense.

Anyway, in an attempt to get this thread somewhat back on track:

- K' and Ash Crimson from KOF. Yeah, let's just get them right out of the way. I can see why KOF's creators thought that introducing new protagonists was a good idea, like communism it looks like a good idea on paper. But this is a video game series, not Power Rangers, and both of these guys just look like (and are) annoying spotlight hogs in retrospect. Ash at least makes a good troll, but K' has just aged like curdled milk.

- Poison from Final Fight/Street Fighter. Did Hugo really need this creepy sidekick attached to him? Actually, why Hugo was even elevated to PC status is questionable since they dropped the "Alex as new protagonist" idea just as soon as they introduced it and Hugo's only use was to be Andre to Alex's Hogan.

- Ed from Street Fighter. Terrible attempt to appeal to the hip-hop/"jive" urban youth. And are we seriously supposed to believe Balrog of all people could raise a child? That kid would have been sold on the streets for liquor money and everyone knows it.

- Alba Meira and Nagase from the KOF MI games. I actually like most of the other MI characters, Jivatma and Duke and such, and Soiree gets a pass since the creator didn't even know he was supposed to be Alba's brother, but Alba and Nagase are both blatant inserts of creator Falcoon (he outright admitted as such) and that makes them so cringey to me. I don't know who is worse between Alba and his creator-mandated cheapness and Nagase cozying up to every old man in the game, but either way they need to be flushed. Or at least memoryholed in the same pit SNK dumped poor K9999 into.

- Black Widow in MVCI. Only included to appeal to "gamer girls", never mind that I have never once met a single Black Widow fan of either gender. Also, concept-wise she's terribly boring and a very poor inclusion when so many more interesting options exist. Hell, if they had to have some empowered girl, give us Pepper Potts, she's from the MCU and got superpowers in the 3rd movie.

- Love Heart from KOF XIV. Blatant ripoff of Ruby Heart, which I can kinda understand since Capcom refuses to use her, but still.

- Nelson from KOF XIV. His character design is a blatant appeal to the "badasses with bionic arms" meme and is totally contrary to his backstory. He looks like some Hwa Jai-tier henchman but he's supposed to be one of the good guys? And if I'm to be brutally honest, his whole team is made of useless characters. SNK fans will look back on Nelson and co as the new Sports Team.

- Bob and Rufus from Tekken and Street Fighter. Obesity is already a bad enough epidemic without games encouraging kids to balloon up to 400 lbs because then they will be able to bounce of walls!!! or become elite chefs or whatever. Smoking was neutered as a cool thing through relentless shaming and only the same will work for obesity.

- Goku Black from FighterZ. The last character on the list but without a doubt the most useless. DBZ already had their "evil Goku" quota filled with Turles, who is a more interesting character than GB in every way. Why millennials cream their pants over this villain sue I will never know.
