Daisy, Isabelle and Lucina (Smash Bros) - Why are they there, exactly? I doubt it's for "diversity", because if you add more female characters without any thought, You just add more female characters. What makes it worse that there's probably going to be more bland female characters anyways; Sakurai, your game is called "Super Smash Bros", not "Trashy Sissy-Fighting Waifus".
Mai (KOF) - She's just a very bland "sexy" *****. I honestly don't understand how her immense legion of h3ntai-fapping fanboys had thrown a temper tantrum just because she wasn't in KOF XII, since she was almost always unviable and you wouldn't miss out on much if you tried to play as her.
95% of the Samurai Shodown cast - You can go "muh cult classic" all you want, cause these characters somehow go into being worse than most Sonic characters. Hell, Samurai Shodown is pretty much Sonic the Hedgehog - but instead of being an inconsistent funny-animal platforming series, it's a fighting game that has characters spew out blood-like ketchup when hit. Basara, Iroha, Mina, Rasetsumaru, and Rimururu are especially terrible.
Karin (Street Fighter) - Why does she exist other than to tie into an obscure manga from 1997? Why did she make it into the Street Fighter V roster before Sakura or Dan? Why are there so many questions I have about a blonde, narcissistic Sakura-lookalike?
Greninja and Primarina (Pokemon) - Gamefreak, you're developing Pokemon, not Mega Man. These two pokemon suffer the same problems: They're rehashed designs from a generation prior but "improved" (if that means making it even more accessible to little kids and perverts, respectively). Honestly, Samurott and Delphox are way better than Weaboo-Frog and Tumblr-Seal, anyways.
Andy Bogard (KOF) - Take Luigi, Rock Howard, and Ken, combine their roles but exclude every redeeming quality in any of those characters, and you've got this piece of blonde wasted flesh. He was meant to be Geese's son, but I'm glad that didn't fall through, since I cannot associate Geese's bada$$ery with a one-dimensional narutard.
Akuma (Street Fighter) - He's the blandest you can make a secret character in a fighting game. Sure, Reptile's got similar flaws but that's just in the first Mortal Kombat. Akuma will stick with being a boring third Ryu for the rest of his life(?).

The "psycho soldier team" in King of Fighters (from what I've seen of it it's quite possibly the most inappropriately-named team which should be re-named the "irritating little £$%& team"). Like someone else I think pointed out, dippy little kids shouldn't be in street-fighting contents. In real life Momoko and Bao would be crushed to a pulp in five seconds.
Chang Koehan, Choi Bounge, Brian Battler, Sie Kensou, Chin Gentsai, Hon-Fu, Franco Bash and M.Bison (Boxer)
Whenever I control a character, it becomes useless for some reason....
Necalli (SFV) is the definition of useless. They made it seem like he would have a major role in the story and boy was I wrong. And imo pretty bland fighting style.
Although he's pretty decent, I never understood why they needed to add duck hunt dog into SSB4.
anything marvel, streetfighter, mortal kombat or killer instinct

a sword is a thing, a chainsaw is another thing. I just saw Tekken being from half-realistic to complete nonsense after Tekken 6. I liked Tekken 6 a lot, probably it has the best gameplay of the whole series, but Namco also screwed it up a little bit by putting too much stuff.
that char has chainsaws, missiles, she can also fly, detaches his head which explod and the she has a new one, lol (magic!)... you call this "creativity" ? it's a mess, it's the clear sign that NAMCO had 0 creativity, so it's just some randoms things put together into an appealing concept (well she's fine, after all, for a robot). It's not creativity, it's randomness.
Oh, but I understand that: afterall she's a cute anime girl. She can even transform into a tank and start stomping on more realistic characters for all I care.
About BOB, seriously, why do you think they made him loose fat in Tekken Tag 2 ? Face the truth: NAMCO reached the maximum characters. They have nothing else to offer and nothing else is actually required. So they're just munching their own concepts and re-puke them in a glossy shape (how many robots already in Tekken, before Alisa? Jack and all his types and prototypes, Yoshimitsu and a piece of Brian and Kazuya are robotic too. Not to mention Mokujin which is not a robot but a sort of possessed totem). They can't move on to other series because they're afraid of loosing their franchise, so they're asking for help to other companies (Capcom and SNK) so Akuma, Geese and more can join. They're just keeping themselves where they are, instead of trying new things (a new series, for example?). Again, you think it is creative? It's obsessive. But they know their fans eat whatever it's served to them so they'll keep with their Tekken series for ever, as much as "creativity-hungry" people are asking for it (that's how the business goes).
Still about BOB... went too far? Nope, I just told it how it is: obesity is a disease, not something you can use to hype-up overweight players willing to identify themselves with something different than a perfectly shaped man. It's a matter of target: they know that at least 50% of players (ok, let's say 30%, maybe) are overweight, those were the people NAMCO needed to "fidelize" with. How to increase fidelity with overweight people? Make an overweight char, an obese one, and make him move like he's a trained parkour athlete (veeeeeery realistic!). What NAMCO thought when "inventing" Bob... probably something like "ooooh this looks nice! fat***es gotta love him, lolololzord much money for us desudesudesu!"
Wonder why they made him lose weight? Probably for the same reason why smoking a cigarette in Metal Gear Solid drains your life out: ethics. They didn't want janitors to ask for a better ethical message about nutrition from them, since Bob's character actually says "obesity is cool".
Quote my same words if you want, but I've never seen an overweight person performing stunts like that in real life, that's all I said (or just post a video where somebody with as much fat as Bob's does his same things).
Honestly, this is what I imagine when I think about Bob:
so, in my honest opinion, relating some of the new chars to the concept of "creativity" is like comparing McDonald's to the concept of "nutrition".
those chars are not necessary "ingredients", they're just additives.
I know it sounds brutal, I know it doesn't sound sweet enough. But the truth is never tasty. It is what it is and I don't like to fool people with lies.

First off. fidelize isn't a word, please put a little more thought into your posts.
Secondly. Nothing about what you described of Alisa is random. A robot that can fly, and detach limbs to fight. (I find it funny how many times you need to reiterate "THE ROBO USES LIMBS 2 FIGHT! WTF?") These are all things that make sense for a fictional robot to do, Tekken is a series that for even before 6 has had very unrealistic sci-fi plotpoints, so this isn't really an issue of "realism". If you're specifically hung up on her head regenerating, go ask Harada for an in-universe explanation to sate yourself, otherwise all you did was describe Alisa having robotic features and say that it was all random for an android to have such things. LOL!
Also notice how all the robots you mention play or look like Alisa.
Third, lose*
Fourth, the reason why they made skinny bob is the same reason they put in all the other clone characters in Tag 2, so that you can use 2 characters that use the same play-style and still have all the tag features. I honestly don't think I will ever understand your point that, "if they didn't make skinny bob people might get the idea that obesity is cool". Do you honestly think the designers and the players have such simple minded reasoning to think that a fat video game character means being fat is not unhealthy? This is the same black and white logic Soccermoms use against violent video games. Where do you even source such a claim? You don't, you just made these things up.
Also, terrible use of made up statistics to go with your point (you probably only used 5% to 10% of your brain to come up with those.).
Fifth, making an entire point based around what you ASSUME a designer wanted people to feel about a design is layers of emotional thinking and zero layers of logic. I don't care what you think the intent is, because honestly you can't prove that the sole his design is to appeal to overweight people. Maybe they just thought fat people were funny? Maybe they just wanted a design to add variety to the body types of the roster? Honestly we can sit around and guess what a designer wanted but it doesn't matter because until we the character designer tells us what they wanted it's just guesses with no confirmation. Basing your criticisms of a design on guesses is a lazy criticism.
You think you're being honest, but you're honestly just making up things about other people and explaining things in ways to make them sound dumb, rather than objectively or without bias. If anything you're fooling yourself into thinking you understand how to critique a design, which is a funny lie to believe in.
EDIT: Also you said I think it was creative with BOB, where in my post did I say that? Looks like you're making things up about other people XD. So much for the telling the "truth".

@GeorgeMaster tl;dr too much thought in your post, like you really care, I stopped reading at the first sign of grammar-nazism
@DanteINSmash2002 yes, whatever you say, good job, you can use metaphores as well, you got skilllzzz
anyway, you guys, instead of pushing drama and starting flamewars, why don't you two discover that wonderful thing that is called "the ignore list" and add me, so you won't feel offended by my words? I'm telling you this because, you know, you're not going to change my point of view by reacting in a directly offensive way.
Grow up.
tl;dr? Lol, a few seconds of copy and pasting and I see your post is 3,496 letters, mine is 2,813. I wonder whose post is tl;dr?
It's almost like you're admitting to getting owned here.
EDIT:I'm not adding you to the ignore list, i'm arguing my points. I simply disagree'd with your post, and you went on a long tangent with a lot of bad points and then acted like you were someone who is only trying to say some harsh truth, when in reality you put a lot of words in other people's mouths, oblivious to the truth. I'm not offended, i'm simply showing you the flaws in your reasoning. And i'm not trying to be anymore offensive than you are.
Grow up.

@GeorgeMaster
hmmm... yes, very interesting. @DanteINSmash2002 and I don't give a heck about your evolution. you can evolve out of here for all I care
We're only trying to discuss things in a forum built for discussion, we're not just ignoring people's posts but still replying to them anyway like some troll who wants to add nothing to discussion but still make a post. How about this, champ. Next time you make a reply, put some thought into it. Think out your points logically, at the very least, make sure your post has a reason to exist, because these last two sure don't. If you want to be dismissive of other people's point of views for no good reason, posting about it is pointless.
