butterfree. has an accuracy boost, sleep powder, and can learn giga drain and psychic which does at least 30 dmg to a dragonite of its same level. I once took out the entire elite four using nothing but my butterfree. I just kept using ethers or whatever the item is called (don't remember) to restore my pp cuz psychic only has 10 hits b4 a visit to the pokecenter. I was playing Fire Red if you're curious.

Butterfree is a beast! I was deciding whether to go with vivillion or butterfree and I ended up with butterfree! The design is soo much more simple and solid by comparison and Butterfree has a great arsenal using bug, flying, and psychic type attacks! I agree! Butterfree in the anime was also very memorable and was one of my very first pokemon growing up.

I have a new Butterfree character coming up for mugen! ;) Featuring Leech life, psybeam, razor wind, and pollen puff XD and maybe an aerial ace XD I'm really excited for its release! X) Started out as my worst wip and ended up being one of my favorites now lol

the only thing i wish butterfree could do that can't is leech seed lol. Then you could get what's basically poison and a healing factor while the enemy is asleep lol.

That is an amazing setup! I had something similar to!

I had a bulbasuar or a venasaur and it had ingrain (restores health from environment), poison powder (attacks every turn until healed), Leech seed (drains health every turn until fainted), and I would attack after that with Giga drain (life restore and damage dealing move)

It was possibly the sickest pokemon ever conceived! All it needed was to be raised for high defense and Hp health, and speed and it could potentially ruin any challenger in theory!!!

But Butterfree does have a flying type advantage though X)

no you're totally right about Bulbasaur. That's my fav between the starters. Not because of the setup but because I like to watch my opponents slowly die with poison powder and leech seed haha. if Charmander or Squirtle had a draining ability I'd choose them more often. But yea Butterfree can't be hurt with moves like Earthquake.

chandelure is a really cool pokemon and the prior evos aren't bad either. I like gardevoir too but wish they stuck with the guardian part of the pokemon instead of making it more humanoid but its also prob cause the community you know..
