    Question Is it Possible to Lower a Character's Defense?

    Hi, I was working on a character and was wondering if it's possible to lower a character's defense in a certain state. On the third round of a match, my character will get angry, changing his idle animation and making him red. These changes work fine. However, it also increases his attack power at the expense of lowering his defense. I was wondering if there was a way to make his defense lower while he is angry. (If there's also an easy way to lower his damage output other than editing each individual attack, I would like to know that as well). If someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it.

    Cheap way:
    [State 123, extra damage]
    type= LifeAdd
    trigger1= statetype = H && time >=0
    trigger1= var(x) = 1 ;checks if bowsy is under "anger" state
    value = -3 ;this way during all the time he's hit, he will receive extra increasing damage, play with this value, you can remove "time>=0" if you want the damage to be stable and once for each attack.

    this can go under [State -2], "var(x)" is just the trigger to check when he's into "anger" state.

    Thanks! I'll try this.

    "Statetype = H" makes it crash. Was this a mistake or am I doing something wrong?

    sorry, that's "movetype", not "statetype". I always confuse the two of them

    [State -3, DefenseMulSet]
    type = DefenseMulSet
    trigger1 = stateno = 2121
    value = 0.5

    this code cuts your defense in half while in stateno 2121 (default is 1, note this a multiplier of the defense as posted in the data tab.)

    [State -3, DefenseMulSet]
    type = DefenseMulSet
    trigger1 =! stateno = 2121
    value = 1

    this code resets your defense to base 1 when you leave state no 2121
