My favorite fighting game is Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, because of the massive amount of Video Game history it represents.
If anything, getting a character in Smash may as well earn them a gold medal, because the character that gets into smash gives their own game attention as well.
By exposing different gaming communities to each other, it manages to build and strengthen the gaming community as a whole by increasing familiarity with one fanbase to another.
So I love the Smash series not just because of it's gameplay or character roster, but because of what it represents.
