    Default Character Transformations Help

    Hello all!

    I'm new to Mugen, and I'm not a programmer. I have done little edits and made simple things in Java before for MineCraft, but of course, that's pretty far from Mugen lol. I have a really awesome Goku JUS Mugen character who can transform from base, to super saiyan 1-3 and super saiyan god, super saiyan blue, and ultra instinct. I also have a super saiyan 5 character. I am trying to add the SSJ5 character as an additional transformation to this Goku instead of him being a totally different character.

    Also, I've been editing my character's stats. That's easy enough. However, with the above mentioned Goku, I was trying to figure out how to edit the stats of each individual form. Particularly, Attack, Defense, Speed, and Punching/Kicking Attack Speed. I've read over a few resources on the topic I found on Google and elsewhere, but I still can't seem to figure it out.

    If anyone has the patience to help me get started, I'd really appreciate it! Once I figure this stuff out, I'm hoping to find characters who are separate forms on Mugen but canonically are all one character and merge them so they can transform. I'll try to do this for any characters who do not already have a transformation version available on here, like Baby Vegeta, for example.

    Anyway, thanks and I hope to hear from someone soon. ^^

    My brother I have got you covered and then some. I have been perfecting transformation stats and edits for like 3-5 years now behind the scenes. Dragon Ball transformation edits were the ones I learned first. Give me a second while I edit this post.

    So basically you are gonna see things like this:

    ;================================================= ==============================
    ; SSJ1:
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [State -3, VarSet - SS1]
    type = VarSet
    trigger1 = numhelper(941) = 1
    v = 2
    value = 1

    ;================================================= ==============================
    ; End of SSJ1
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    This bit of code basically detects whether or not the Transformation in question is active or not. Numhelper(941) is the activation state for SSJ1. With this bit of code. The characters stats will only increase while transformed. You will need to make sure you have one of these for every single SSJ activation state.

    Now I can give you several ways to do this but lets try this one first. After the activation state stuff is done you'll need to place this in the code:

    ;================================================= ==============================
    [State 0, AttackMulSet]
    type = AttackMulSet
    trigger1 = 1
    value = 1+fvar(2)+fvar(3)

    [State 0, DefenceMulSet]
    type = DefenceMulSet
    trigger1 = 1
    value = 1-fvar(2)
    ;================================================= ==============================

    Personally I don't really use this one much anymore but its necessary for this example. This is what detects that you are trying to change the defense and attack values in the transformation. fvar(3) is only there because of a Kaioken transformation btw.

    After that you will need to add the bits of code that give your transformation the stats increase you want. It should look a lot like this:

    ;================================================= ==============================
    ; SSJ1 Transformation Stats
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    [State 0, VarSet] ; SS1
    type = VarSet
    trigger1 = var(2) = 1
    fv = 2
    value = .2

    ;================================================= ==============================
    ; End of SSJ1 Transformation Stats
    ;-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    This is where the attack and defense increase comes in. Now generally with most other coders defence mulsets. The lower the value. The higher the defense reduction. But this one has a 1 minus fvar(2). So it is different. Here are the stats that I have for my Dragon Ball Saiyans right now: SSJ1 = .2, SSJ2 = .3, SSJ3 = .4, SSJ4 =.5, SSG = .6, SSB = .8, Ultra Instinct = .9

    With those stats you should have a pretty canonical representation of a Super Saiyan. Although you can make the stats higher for certain characters if you want. Gohan's SSJ2 is probably gonna be stronger than Goku and Vegeta's for example. So for Gohan you could make SSJ2 = .36 for example. Then make Ultimate Gohan a .46 value. Though it really depends on the arc your character is from relative to the others in that same arc. You can decide on all those fun details yourself lol. While I do think the attack values will increase as well. It honestly much better to go into Fighter Factory edit the damage of each move individually. The defense scaling is fine. But attack scaling in Mugen can be wonky and inconsistent. Certain moves will not do as much damage as they should. While some moves will do far more damage than you probably intended them to do. Also it helps much more when they go up against other characters that have beefed up transformations as well.

    Oh my gosh, thank you so much! This was very clear and easy to understand. After lunch, I'll start messing around with the Goku character I'm using to try to figure this out. Then, I'll try to add SSJ5 to the mix. If I have any questions or run into any problems, I'll post back here. ^^

    If you need it I'll be ready to help at any time. I've even developed a way to give those One Piece JUS Zoan characters increased stats while only they are transformed as well. The code is almost completely original though. So I can assure you that there is nothing else like it in MUGEN. It's sort of a combination of exploiting the way Fighter Factory reads code but it works most of the time and actually makes character transformations truly matter.

    Anyways I'm more than willing to share that code with you and anyone else who asks for it.

    Awesome! I'll let you know when I get to other characters besides the Dragon Ball ones. You don't have to, but if you want to help with this Mugen build I'm doing, you're more than welcome to! Just let me know. Right now, there's over 100 characters, and the count keeps climbing as I expand into more franchises too.

    I can share some of the knowledge I've acquired over the years but at the moment I can't directly help with the characters themselves. I've been making my own custom MUGEN for years now haha!
