Video Games Don't Make Sense!
Welcome to Video Games Don't Make Sense or for short VGDMS.
WARNING: Spoilers!
In this thread, we will talk about what does not make sense in games we like, PC, console, official, made by a fan, any game counts really...
For me, there are few things in games i like that don't make sense:
King of Fighters:
1. Iori hates violence. Huh? He always seemed like some angry person who just hates everyone (that's actually a huge reason he's my favorite) and just wants to kill Kyo, but i find it hard to believe that he canonically hates violence...
2. K' hates KOF tournaments but always appears in them.
3. Chris, Yashiro and Shermie have died and appeared only in non canon KOF games Life is not fair, not even in fiction, i guess. (unless if you are the protagonist, idk really)
4. Kyo is able to defeat every boss he wants. But i guess that's because he's the main character and from what i've heard, SNK (almost) never lets their protagonists lose.
Mortal Kombat:
1. Like Wagner Plagues said, characters in MK can be brutally mur**red in any way, and yet they still come back to life as if nothing happened.
2. Liu Kang can kick Shao Kahn's a** without trying.
Tsukihime:
1. Shiki kills Arcueid in the beginning of Arcueid and Ciel route, and somehow, Arcueid later falls in love with him.
"Oh, you are that one guy who stalked and killed me despite my immortality? Cool, i am in love with you by the way!"
2. Why is Yumizuka Satsuki "universally hated"? She has a crush on Shiki, but in Arcueid and Ciel route, we have no idea what happened to her. What did she ever do to anyone? I have no idea, i guess she's just here to be a comic relief character, but it's still kind of sad because no one deserves to go through that.
What about you? What, in your opinion, doesn't make sense in video games you like? Any game counts.
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
Mario, a random Italian plumber jumps in a random middle-ages (?) fantasy world, jumping on turtles and brown mushrooms to save a princess from a giant lizard at the end, getting more power by consuming another mushrooms and flowers. Talk about roots in real world. The most recognizable video game series ever btw.

For real. There's no person in the world that doesn't know about Mario, the game Mario Bros., unless if they live under a rock.
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
I want to think the whole "Iori hates violence" Thing was just SNK wanting to do an ironic joke, like does that means everytime the guy tells his opponents "**** off!" Is because he wants to avoid violence? Is just kinda funny when you see his quotes and remember yeah this is the guy who hates violence.
Anyway here's my points.
-Negan a simple human is capable of defeat alot of guys who could obviously kick his **** in a 1v1 fight in Tekken 7 (Then again, this is basically the case with most guest characters in fighting games)
-How does a virus give you the ability teletransport yourself and run super fast in Resident Evil?
-No matter how you get wasted, you will always reappear in the closest hospital
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
Huh, and the things that doesn't make sense outside them?
Like "SF and KOF, with random people having ridiculous superpowers, that's so absurd. I prefer Darkstalkers and Killer Instinct because the powers are justified because the characters are monsters"
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
I all ways have think the kof figheters was like the x-men because of the powers!
Like Minecraft anti gravity floor for example? eheehee the fisic in this game is hilarious :xp:
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
King Arthur's fiancee is kidnapped by The Devil, so he can't waste his time, The Devil must be chased right in this very moment, alone, while killing his armies on the way, creature by creature, armed with an infinite amount of spears.
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
What's happening here in the first level? That tyrannosaurus is not waiting in a corner to ambush the cavemen like the other bosses, it's just sleeping in the middle of the level, only gets midly annoyed when it's dream is interrupted and only enter when the small one gets attacked.

Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
I always found Iori ironic since he seems as murderous as Yamazaki. K' dislikes are just funny to me but that's what I like about him. Anyway:
Metal Gear Solid 4
-The Rat Patrol had trouble beating the FROGS but then a couple chapters later, Meryl and Johnny (that wuss who craps his pants) can gun them down casually? GTFO
-Liquid Ocelot spent two games trying to kill off Snake but then in the end, he was trying to save him? What!? Oh and Liquid Snake possessing him was supposed to **** use.
-Honestly, a lot of things in MGS4 and the explanations for the past games is just plain bad writing. That's because it wasn't Hideo Kojima doing all the writing. The guy who made the MGS story good left after MGS3.
Metroid Other M
Samus screams in horror when she gets attacked by Ridley which is stupid since she faced much worse things (including stronger forms of Ridley) before. Just keep in mind that in canon continuity, Other M is placed right before Metroid Fusion, the last game in the timeline. So yeah, she dealt with being corrupted by Dark Samus, almost killed by the Mother Brain, being captured and experimented by the Space Pirates, and thrown in planets much harsh than that abandoned space station.
Tomb Raider Reboot
-Lara spent the beginning of the game acting like a scared college girl and all of a sudden, she can take down trained mercenaries alone? There's flashbacks of her combat training but none of it is convincing. The old Tomb Raider games didn't have to tell you much but you already know the old Lara did a lot Indiana Jones action for years.

Wesker's virus strain was made simply for enhancement rather than creating bio-weapons made to serve whatever military faction is using them. You wouldn't want any traitors getting their hands on enhancement drugs and turn on you. It's obvious Wesker didn't share any of his superhuman viral injections since he was a traitor himself.

The fact that in games like GTA, the police don't care if you're driving down the streets at high speeds, crashing into other cars, etc. They only seem to care if you shoot somebody, steal a car, or start running over pedestrians.
The entire story/campaign of Call of Duty: Ghosts has a major issue that is never addressed at all. If you haven't played this game, the story revolves around the Ghosts, an elite US military squad, as they fight against a dangerous South American superpower known as the Federation. It sounds like an awesome story, but its ruined because of the conflict itself. It isnever explained why the Federation invaded the US or why they even have such a burning hatred for America in the first place. It's almost like they're doing it for the hell of it. I'm sorry, but a military power needs to have a bit more motivation than just "kill, burn, destroy everything in our path". At one particular point in the game, Federation helicopters are seen landing on a US aircraft carrier with no issues whatever, while said carrier is under attack. It's incredibly jarring and immersion breaking. If any hostile aircraft tried doing that in real life, it would have been shot down without a second thought. Worst of all, the game has the nerve to end on a cliffhanger. Just great, we have a game with a huge plot hole that's sadly and likely never gonna be resolved.

Zombies getting stopped by a cardboard wall in Metal Gear Survive, very strange.

1. Regenerating health, doesn't really make a lot of sense.
2. The fact that Nintendo released a collection of 3 Mario games with barely any improvements for $60, and on top that, being a limited release, both physically and digitally. Seriously, why the hell are Nintendo games so expensive?

Hmm, didn't Neo Geo (not just KOF but other titles) games cost about more than hundred, and sometimes even thousand? Sorry for unrelated comment, but your comment just reminded me of that. I googled the price of Neo Geo KOF games and i was just surprised.
Re: Video Games Don't Make Sense!
The fact that many of the weapons and vehicles in GTA Online are insanely overpriced. Like who would actually pay $850,000 for a car resembling an old VW Beetle?! In real life, a car like that wouldn't be worth that much. It's because of stuff like this that I just stick to playing single player GTA 5 with mods installed. Plus, I don't really do online games.

Bill Gates: Interesting.
