What got you into mugen?

I am a Mortal Kombat fan, It all started with youtube, i was searching for gameplay of mk3 and i found out that like 2 of the videos was a mugen recreation of original mk3

Youtube videos of the game got me into it. Seeing crazy character matchups n all. Plus the customizable aspect.

I hadn't heard of mugen before the Castle Super Beast podcast. when i heard of it I found my way to this site. now im hooked

that is my reason too

I got into mugen so i can learn how to edit and make sprites but mostly so i can have fun with my friends.

Vargskelethor's Mugen streams were hilarious so i though to try it out. now ive got like 15 gig of mugen related content on my drive lol

a youtube video in 2004 with Reuben Kee evil ryu evil ken and peter and homer and it was over lol

I got into mugen because my brother mentioned it and is sounded like a lot of fun

for me it was the fact I was basically able to create my own smashbros game with characters that I wanted instead and it just seemed fun

What did it for me was Super X-Men Children of the Atom. I've been building up that roster, and adding characters of figures my kids got for Christmas. My boy loves watching it. And I've figured out how to fix some characters that threw up errors or needed to be updated since they were so old. Just got X-23 working in 1.1 and I'm really happy with myself for figuring out any issues I've had.

Yeah it's been fun to mess around with. And I've found just about everyone I'm looking for except Spider Gwen. I was also thinking of uploading the X23 I got working in 1.1 so if someone like me stumbled on the game later, they could get it running easier than I did. But I'm a lurker still and that's not allowed yet.

I think the first thing that got me interested in MUGEN was when Joel played it.

So, I think I was googling something like "How to create a fighting game" and one of the results was about M.U.G.E.N.
I learned about it a little bit and thought it was pretty interesting. I even tried to create one, but the try wasn't very successful.

I got into mugen seeing a youtube vid on mario and luigi vs sonic and shadow and being interested in what game it was.

Really, it was Afrosenju. I never even knew about Mugen until I saw him start playing it and get all hyped up about it. I decided to download it myself and look into it, and I always feel the same way he does when playing it. (Minus the screaming bit :smile:)
