MUGEN is probably the biggest throwback I could think of. Way back into the early 2000's I had an uncle who showed me and my brothers of what it was and bro I was hooked! I was probably 8 or 9 when I first saw it. Probably my biggest nostalgia.

Can't say when I first heard about it, I guess it must have been on Youtube, I found a video in 2011 something... I was amazed by the cross-over aspect of the engine. Like a dream come true. I immediately wanted to know more about it.
Afro Senju made some recent Mugen content on youtube and as an anime nerd I figure I would love to indulge in this.
I found it a few days ago, and I've spent all my time in class on it ever since.
a couple days ago a friend showed me some insane clips and i thought id give it a try, spent the last couple days figuring out how to install new characters, stages, screenpacks, etc
When i was 15
First learned about Mugen years ago, around 2011 at the earliest.
Im 27 years old this year and ive played mugen for over a decade already. But i cant pinpoint the exact time tho
First time I heard about MUGEN is when I was addicted to Mortal Kombat stuff. Found out about MKP and MK Chaotic and had my mind blown.
Had no clue what mugen was way back in 2011, couldn't even read English or understand it for the matter.

Was a struggle to find what I wanted back then, played it with my younger brother, and my older sister.
I still play it from time to time, but not as much.
watched a yt video of the game and i thought it looked pretty cool
Ive known about for a couple of months and now i wanna try and create my own to share:smile:
It was actually pretty random i was watching a YouTuber called AfroSenju XL and he does a lot of Mugen stuff, so after some time of watching his stuff i decided to search up this game and when i saw it was free and that it had an active community i was hooked.
I knew about mugen way back, I'm talking around 2012. I saw alot of people playing it but those videos didn't start my love for mugen. What started it was a Youtuber by the name of Maximillian_Dood. He would do something called Mugen Madness and the mugen he played wasso janky and busted I fell in love with it.
I think i knew it from 5 years
I saw an old video my Maximilian Dood doing a 4v4 tournament, inspired me to pick up MUGEN. Still can't edit characters properly though... :(
i first known about it when a Dragon ball Z game was used (think it was hyper dragon ball Z) and saw it used something called mugen. I started searching for what, when, and who it is and its all smooth sailing from there.
Definitely around early 2000s. it's cool to see it still around
Probably around 2006 ~ 2008, can't remember exactly, I downloaded a DBZ game. It was Mugen, but in my child mind it was a legit DBZ game. A couple years later I found it again, but this time I knew it was editable. Then I found a lot of oocites mugen pages with a lot of chars, so I start to expand it.
Originally GOD role, is the most fire when mugen at that time.
I saw it on Youtube one day. And then i trying to play.
It was some time in the 90's, a gaming magazine made a special issue about game making, talking about RPG maker and Mugen etc.
Sometime around 99 or 2000. My older brother found out about the engine and played a game featuring evil ryu/ken. Not too long after there was this game called DBZ Mugen Millennium that had this deep roster from Dragon Ball through GT. I was hooked!
i was in electronic arts class playing a bunch of fighting games on the computer and found it browsing around the internet
At first I didnīt know anything about it, just some kind of fighter with characters from Nintendo, other videogame characters (Sonic, Rayman), Fox cartoons, Spiderman and thatīs it. Then I discovered The Powerpuff Girls are there too (still not the joke DG2īs versions) and then I saw the video with them and Pingu so I convinced myself that I must have it. Thanks to MUGEN I discovered real fighting games that even movesets of the latter ones are based on. Then I gradually became familiar with Capcom (SF, Darkstalkers, MvC, Rival Schools, JJBA HFF), SNK (KOF, Samurai Showdown, Power Instinct, Fighterīs History, NGBC), their crossovers, Sunsoft (WW7, Galaxy Fight) and then the other ones. Mortal Kombat, Hokuto no Ken 2005, Asuka 120% and more. Thatīs the story.
i cant remember when but i remember watching a bunch of videos off mugen but didnt have a pc and recently remembered about mugen and i just got a new pc so im setting up a mugen now
Hallow everyone! Can yuo halp me with choosing best MUGEN game? Whitch one is the best?
Re: I learned about mugen a couple of weeks ago, but on my old pc i lost all my data on mugen archive and obviously the game aswell bc it broke, so i hate to get a new acc an stuff

Re: mega mix Hd the layout is amazing as well as the huge amount of character slots
Found out about MUGEN about 12 years ago... downloaded it played for a while until my HD failed and didn't really bother to download it on my new setup until recently.
My friend told me about it a couple years ago, and man it just sounded like so much fun. My gripe with fighting games at the time was that I didn't really care about the characters/couldn't really be bothered to be interested in the new ones. Gradually, my view on that has expanded, and I'm all for fighting games now, but what really drew me into it back then was the aspect of having the damn characters I wanted to play as, and fighting the characters I wanted to fight. I thought it was hilarious that you could play as Ronald McDonald, and just how ridiculous his moveset was for a restaurant icon.
around 2015, when on youtube, just an amazing game with many characters and you can put your custom char in this game
I heard about it online when I saw a few videos. I always inspired to make a Mortal Kombat sort of video game but never had the real skill of coding to do so. I also tried to make a few anime mugen games but failed, but mostly: I learned about it online, yeah.
since i was 9 ya boi maxed out youtube
when i'm at grade 6, i just saw it on youtube
I want to say I started hearing about MUGEN around the late 2000s or so.
i wanted to find something like ssf2

also i was watching afro
I was very well aware of mugen since like 2009 but only recently have I tried this game out
Well i first heard about M.U.G.E.N. on Youtube when i watched youtubers playing it i always thought about bringing my own characters into M.U.G.E.N. It would be hard but it would be crazy satisfying
I was around 7 years old when I found out MUGEN existed. It was all through super old YouTube videos that featured the likes of Homer Simpson, Mario, and Ryu. Pretty much around 2009-2010 I started to watch MUGEN, as it has been around half a year since I started liking fighting games starting with Super Smash Bros Brawl oddly enough. When I realized that you could do anything you wanted in the game like a sand-box genre, I got hooked immediately. I always loved sand-box games (I mean thats why I think Minecraft is best game) and I love to create, whether it would be music or stick figure art. Around 2 years later, I worked on MUGEN characters myself, starting out as edits, then original creations.
A friend on YouTube streams (talking like 10 years ago) recommended me M.U.G.E.N. We loaded it up with fighters. Some meme ones too like GIYGAS and Ronald Mc Donald. It was fun
