Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
On an Online forum about ten years ago. I remember I enjoying making tournaments among characters to find the strongest and most OP ones. Also was just looking for a good fight to watch. Really liked and still like fighting games. No wonder Tekken 7 and other fighting games are so big now a days.
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I First heard everything about the engine in my childhood back in 2007~2009 (4/5/6 years old, i was a elementary school student), my dad introduced me to the engine by downloading some games via Baixaki.com, although in 2008~2009 (5/6 years old) i remember watching some MUGEN videos especially with Spongebob, which was my favorite cartoon character as a kid.
Now today i know everything about the engine, now i'm currently working as a content maker (Since my former content i made wasn't good). I finished reading/learning from the docs of how to make a character+some tutorial sites which are legit (Team-Nippon) & now i'm learning from the brazilian translation of the MUGEN docs (DOS ver. 14/04/2001) by John_MacEnroe.
I'm also planning to finish that brazilian translation of the docs i'm making (It's my own version of them).
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I was looking for a game where I can play on my school laptop on and also go to it's orginal site without getting it block by the school and this was the only place I knew so I came back and made an account. The first time I came here was 2003, but only made an account this year because I'm stupid
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
It was looong ago, when I was younger, my uncle (not that old either) was searching for free fighting games online, and he stumbled upon "mortal kombat vs street fighter" and we had no idea it was mugen-based. I don't think that game's available at all anymore.
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I know in YouTube 2010 but I played Mugen in 2018
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I first found saw it around 2012 and it was video of Jotaro fighting Dio on MUGEN.

Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
Back when I was like I think 8 or 9. I was just getting into Dragon Ball Z, and at the time I was just looking for games to play. I spent a lot of time on Youtube, and came across a Broly vs Bojack video. I didn't know what mugen was until like 2018.
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I found a video about it only a few years back. It was enough to get me interested in it. I still regret till this day being late to the party:laugh:

Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
Since the start of high school, google searches indicated DBZ characters being adapted to some engine named MUGEN.
Granted, most of those are Mexibeam characters, as Saltybet can prove.

Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
Around summer 2007, I was hooked the moment I saw it. A game where I could customise everything??? Sign me up! Have been messing around with it on and off ever since, and have recently come back. The aspect I loved the most (and hope still remained as I'm jumping back into it now) was looking through content creators' personal websites. You know, back when websites were very basic with cheap animations, text, banners and poor colour choices for everything, making websites extremely personal and fun! Seeing websites from creators all over the world, not understanding a word that's written on it and really digging deep into the net for some very rare and hidden gems, just hoping the links work cos the websites were just as old as I was! Then bookmarking the pages in a hurry because God forbid, your browser crashed, you definitely knew you were never going to be able to find that page again. I'm excited to get back to working with MUGEN since it's been with me ever since I had my first laptop, can't wait.
Re: When did you know about MUGEN?
I remember watching MUGEN videos on YouTube back in 2007~2009, where characters like Giga Bowser and Ronald McDonald would duke it out. It perplexed me at first, seeing two characters from different companies fight, but it hooked me with the idea of a Smash-like roster and MVC fight mechanic (but on steroids).
