Re: Do you like old games ?
I'm a big fan of 90's games (Especially doujin ones), But i was born in the 00s instead (I was born in 5th june, 2003 though, i'm 16 years old).
My favs: Super Mario World, The Queen of Heart '99, KoF '98, SFXVI (MUGEN-like fighting game for Sharp X68000), Asuka 120% franchise, Advanced V.G. 2, Megaman 8, Rugrats: Totally Angelica & etc.
The new generation ruined all stuff xd.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Yes, most of the games i play nowadays are old, i still play Diablo II (with mods) Unreal Tournament 99, the GBA games (i play Harvest Moon, Zelda which are my favorites but also play other classics) and the games i played on my PS1 like Silent Hill, Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3, Tekken 3, Yugioh, Fanal Fantasy, MediEvil and a lot more.
By the way, this should go to the video games sub section of the forum, i am moving this one.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I'll might be viewed a boomer but, I genuinely think a lot of the best gaming experiences came from the Ps2/xbox era and early 7th gen. They are new games that are very fun don't get me wrong (games like devil may cry 5, fallout 4 and borderlands 3 ) but most games nowadays play it safe an appeal to a more casual audience.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Yes, old RPGs, they are like silent movies if that makes sense to somebody else

Re: Do you like old games ?
I love old games, especially the games of the 90's and early 2000's.
As for the favorite consorle, I'm split between Super Nintendo and PS1 because both marked my childhood, especially with games like Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario World, Top Gear, Gran Turismo, Spyro the Dragon, Dance Dance Revolution, among others.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Absolutely! Older games are great to revisit when I start to get bored of the (relatively) newer ones. Heck, I even own a (still functioning) NES! (Though, emulators are more my style).
Older RPG's, I'm particularly fond of, even the more obscure ones. Live A Live, Soul Blazer, earlier entries in the Final Fantasy series, et cetera.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I like older games. 90% of my favorite games are emulated, and the ones that aren't are usually from the early 2000's at the oldest. I like genres with arcade-y feels to them.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I like old games, as long as it's 3D. I'll get tired of 2D games unless it's Kirby, some puzzle games, made by SEGA, or JRPGs.
Idk if you can consider 7th Gen old school now but 5th~7th is the best, especially with multiplayer games and other people around you.
I don't mind the console, just give me the games. I have an N64, Wii, and PS3. This way I can play Gamecube, PS1, PS2, and even some Dreamcast games as well. I might get a Sega Saturn soon but Japan has most of the games anyway so I won't have as much access as I want.
Huh? Xbox? Um... Dead or Alive 3. I don't understand how Xbox has still survived today. Can you imagine if Nintendo Playstation happened? There'd be a single major console.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Yea, old games are amazing and they bring back the golden age of gaming when publishers actually released the full game on launch, and micro transactions didn't exist.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Old pixelated games was more aesthetic.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Yup!
I like old games honestly, especially the ones i loved playing in my childhood. New games are fun too, i guess, but i love most of the old ones as well. Old is gold, they say.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Of course! NES, Super Nintendo, PS1, Sega Genesis, and to a lesser extent N64 (Mario 64 and Goldeneye 007 took a large amount of my waking hours afterall), these are my favorite consoles with my favorite games on them; although, of recent I've been almost exclusively a PC gamer, latest purchases for another console being Disgaea D2 and Dragon's Crown for the PS3. I love pixel artwork, I love the unusual instrumentation of the old chipsets, and love the amount of professional passion that went into the games being made. Back when the major players in the gaming industry were hungry to build their reputation , lacked the insane tools and chip/hd space of current game models and systems, and so they hired passionate, creative, talented, and resourceful individuals to make gaming gold from lumps of lead with hard work and respect for the job.
If I started naming games I would never stop, so I'll just say that I loved those games and I wish the industry and companies that made them would show their old work some respect by archiving the originals more often and more carefully, as they're a part of our history too; They're like old friends to many of us. I HATE knowing that some games are just lost to time in their original form because certain companies (again, can't list one or I'd have to list all, but we all most likely have a few companies we're deeply disappointed in) wish to re-write history and make a quick buck off of our nostalgic affections by seeking the path of least effort and mangling our memories with garbage remakes while literally ERASING or removing access to the historical original.
Oooooh, now I really got myself boiling >=(.
Sorry for the rant. . .
Re: Do you like old games ?
I love old games, espically stuff like Pokemon or Mega man
Re: Do you like old games ?
I honestly love old games, the best one I have played was Yoshi's world on a nintendo.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I love this. My brother - retro gamer, he tells me over histories, and i play with him Sega.
Re: Do you like old games ?
Those games were new when I play them :oldgamer: we make jokes about how in the future Capcom will put the Resident Evill Games in a single disc and kid with make fun about how bad the graphics, the controls and the story was, and already happen.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I've played a decent amount of games before 2000. Fallout 1 & 2, Streets of Rage 1 through 3, Street fighter 2 though Super Street Fighter 2 turbo, mortal kombat 2 and 3, and Golden axe 3, and the Sonic classic collection on DS.
I think graphics are a bit too much of the focus of video game companies these days. Games like fallout 1 & 2 have a good story without good having good graphics.
My favorite console is the PS2 i have so many good memories on it.
Re: Do you like old games ?
I've spent the last couple of weeks absolutely addicted to the old NES RPG Destiny of an Emperor. Also started the (fan-translated) sequel... well, it's not really a sequel. It's a retelling of the exact same story, but with slightly better graphics and more cutscenes, but you can't "capture" enemy generals and mix and match your party at will, and that reduces a lot of the appeal for me.
