i was young af and I remember going down the ronald mcdonald loophole first with the mcrolld, then next thing you know, im watching badass ronald mcdonald do his nasty air combos on a kung fu man... that was the beginnings... so much dreams from simple imports :gamer_gpcmr:
There was this store here in my city (Cumaná, Venezuela) where they sold bootleg PC games (yeah, Latin American piracy at it's finest lol), and I was looking for DBZ games to buy, I got myself attracted to a DVD that said "Dragon Ball Z Edición Mugen 2007" and bought it, installed it in my PC and had a good bunch of hours of fun. Then I looked more into it through google searches and learned about the Mugen engine, and began adding Megaman characters, I was 8 at the time. Fun times
Youtube iirc. Probably one of those super old videos with Ronald Mcdonald.
I do also remember this 4v4 between different Sonics and Marios that took multiple parts. That's the first Mugen video I actively remember watching.
My first ever M.U.G.E.N was Dragon Ball Z Mugen Edition 2 and everything started after I realized I can add chars and stages.
The way I was introduced to Mugen was through a google search.
I was very young, as this was around 2010, I got into watching Light Yagami in MUGEN (he was cheap as cheap as you think he is), but I've never really got around to even download MUGEN until 2019 actually
YouTube - I got recommended videos of users playing dragon ball z in mugen. The amount of characters got my attention so I decided to watch some videos of it.
From Youtube
Saw YT vids and thought they were EPIC
One day I just found a video on YouTube that displayed characters I didn't even know were possible to put against one another.
I saw Rare Akuma other day in Youtube (all intro) but this video got deleted.
And I never found this Char to try .
I heard about it many years ago... Today, I've got time to try it ^^
I was one ordinary day doing a research task... Until after having advanced a lot... I gave myself a little time to relax...which ended up being too much and was the cause of not finishing my duty.
I remembered a game called "Matrimelee" and that the final boss was very difficult to defeat... and I ventured to search on youtube if there was a person who could easily defeat her...
After many videos, YouTube began to suggest similar videos but that were a bit off the subject, among them there was a video that showed how someone defeated the final boss but at a stage that did not exist within the game. I did not understand this situation and as I noticed that the title said the word MUGEN, so I decided to look for it.
When searching for the word MUGEN, videos appeared showing countless characters battling...
At that moment I decided to download MUGEN without knowing that a long way awaited me...
Of course, when I downloaded MUGEN I did not understand anything and I deleted it... But over time I downloaded it again and I was able to know better what it was about...
Summary: Youtube...
Been a fighting gamer since the late 90's. But I always wanted to make my own fighting game. Found out about MUGEN in the early 2000's, sucks I'm this late to the party, but better late than never I guess.
Got lots of MUGEN fight videos recommended a while back, like "Ronald McDonald VS Homer Simpson." Happened to recently start getting them recommended again many years later, so I decided to give MUGEN another shot.
when i was like 7 i alway was allowed 1 hour on my moms Laptop, and i loved dragonball back then so i went on YouTube and searched for my daily dragonball Content....until i stumbled upon a mugen Showcase for goku.
I was looking for DBZ games and I ended up finding a DBZ Mugen, I remember that I loved it and was playing a lot.
When I was a kid, I discovered MUGEN from YouTube videos, and I was like: "That's cool stuff."
So I got it, and had fun.
Old videos of Mario Vs. Sonic and Ronald McDonald Vs. DIO videos back in 2010.
